Follow-Up Friday: Using The Reading Components

This week we explain how to use the reading components in any classroom k-6. Click HERE for a free handout that gives you an overview of what each reading component is, how we can assess each component, and what effective instruction should include.

The reading components include oral language, print awareness, letter knowledge, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. We hope this video and download will help clarify these very important aspects of literacy and will help you include each of them in your daily teaching.

Let us know if you have any questions! We also want to wish you a wonderful school year and look forward to collaborating with you all this year. Thank you for being part of The Simple Teachers community.
